Health Outcomes / Economics Associate (L26)
Suitable candidates for this role will have a tertiary qualification (Bachelors, Masters or PhD) in medicine, biomedical science, health economics, public health or equivalent. The role entails reviewing medical, scientific and clinical literature, trials and surveys in order to extract and analyse data – using evidence based medicine to describe the value of health care.
The candidate must have a clear understanding of clinical trials and how to assess health publications according to standards such as NHMRC guidelines. They should also have excellent written skills with absolute attention to detail. The Associate will be involved in systematic literature review which involve running searches in databases, performing title, abstract and then full text screening followed by data extraction and analysis. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.). Experience with Endnote/RefMan and RevMan is highly desirable as is experience with methodologies such as meta and sensitivity analyses.
The role will also include producing submissions to reimbursement authorities so an understanding of the guidelines or Australian reimbursement process is favourable. There may be exposure to more complex health economic principles, modelling and economic evaluation, all of which will be entirely mentored by senior staff.
Furthermore, there will be opportunity to gain exposure to report writing, poster design as well as manuscript writing and publication.
